Quick details about pricing, photos, appointments and service around Durham Region.

Do you offer free on-site estimates?

J.W.D. does not offer free on-site estimates. If you are an older adult who cannot use a cellphone, or anyone physically unable to take or send photos, please contact us by phone at 289-600-4646. Describe your circumstances and the items you need removed as best you can, and we will provide a quote. If pickup or travel is not worthwhile for a small job, we can advise on no-cost disposal options when available.

What is the J.W.D. $60 Flash Pickup?

Our $60 Flash Pickup is a limited weekly Durham Region offer for removing one large item weighing up to 200 lbs, with HST included. Simply register for an available spot, leave your item outside in an accessible location, and wait for James to confirm your pickup. Routes are scheduled based on location and availability, with up to 8 public spots per week. Registration is free, and payment is only required after your pickup is approved.

What is the J.W.D. Alert Beacon?

The J.W.D. Alert Beacon is our same-day pickup signal! When you see the J.W.D. Signal activated on our website, it means James is out working with the truck and may be able to accommodate additional junk removal pickups in your area. Simply send photos of what you need removed, along with your city, for a quick quote. Availability is limited and your pickup is confirmed only after James agrees on the price and schedule.

Can I text photos for a clearer estimate?

Yes. Use the Text Photos link to send the job photos. Include the service city, a note about the items and any useful access details. J.W.D. typically provides a price within 1–2 hours.

Is the online estimate my final price?

It is a starting estimate based on the options selected. Send clear photos, your service city and important access details. J.W.D. typically provides a price within 1–2 hours and confirms the service and price with you before the appointment.

Does booking online reserve a junk removal day?

Online calendar bookings must be made ahead of time. Need pickup today? Call or text to ask whether James is already on the road with a truck and can fit it in; same-day availability varies. J.W.D. reviews the photos and city, typically provides pricing within 1–2 hours, and confirms the service and price with you before the appointment. To cancel at no charge, contact us by the evening before your appointment. Same-day cancellation requests can’t be accommodated.

What junk removal and demolition services does J.W.D. provide?

What kinds of jobs can I estimate online?

The current meter includes General Junk, Renovation Material and Shed Removal categories. Open the meter to see its available choices, photos, rates and category-specific notes.

How does the Junk-O-Meter estimate work?

Choose the category and options that best match your job in J.W.D.’s existing meter. It gives a rough estimate based on those selections; use the meter and its notes for the current details. The displayed estimate is before HST.

What should I do if I'm unsure which category to choose?

Check the categories and notes in the existing meter. If the job does not clearly fit, text photos and your city to J.W.D. and ask which pricing path is appropriate.

Which areas around Durham Region do you serve?

J.W.D. serves Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Bowmanville, Courtice, and nearby Durham communities. Contact J.W.D. if you are unsure whether your address is in range.

What hazardous or restricted items can't J.W.D. accept?

For safety and disposal reasons, J.W.D. cannot accept chemicals, tires, propane tanks, paint, fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, or pianos. Piano removal is restricted because of the weight and handling hazards. If you’re unsure about an item, ask before booking.

Does renovation debris need to go in a bin?

The Renovation Material section of the current meter describes removal, loading and disposal, with no bin required. Review that category’s current notes and estimate details for your project.

Curbside Pickup in Durham Region

A photo quote helps establish the removal scope and price. Include the item or material condition and anything that affects lifting or loading. The service and price are agreed before the appointment.

Prepare items for an outdoor pickup

Photograph the full pile and confirm where it will be placed. Tell James whether the pickup is from a driveway, curbside area or another accessible outdoor spot.

Only place items where you have permission and where access is safe. Keep walkways clear and discuss the timing before moving belongings outside.

Outdoor pickup with disposal included

Loading and disposal are included in the agreed pickup. Item types, volume and location affect the quote; outdoor placement does not make scrap-metal collection free.

J.W.D. does not offer free on-site estimates. Start with photos and your service city; if you cannot send photos, call to explain the job. Use the booking flow and FAQ above for the next step.
